Each of the lines in the painting shown above are irregular as too are the bumps, bleeds of paint and wrinkles. This isn’t a problem rather it has been made intentional by allowing a mark to happen. Marks and scuffs on these paintings are indicative to those of the subject matters state. In this case the window blinds. The blinds for me act as a signifier to the state of the owner who too is deteriorating (elderly). The disregard over time isn’t an unpleasant disregard more a natural degradation. The disregard shown on the subject, I have too inflicted onto the painting which is representative of the owners corporeal state. If the lines were not irregular it would be too clinical to be suggestive of degradation or natural forms the lines would be lost in a sea of prior minimalist thoughts.
